About The Event

Traditional medicine is a very important part of Indigenous health that is almost always overlooked by the health care system. Indigenous Traditional Medicine uses a holistic model of well being through the integration of emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. 

This hands-on teaching session will provide insight into the ways several traditional 

medicines are harvested and used by Indigenous peoples within the Parkland. 

This workshop will be facilitated by Fred Stevens, Sapotaweyak Cree Nation Band member. Fred is a knowledge keeper who has dedicated his life to learning and teaching about traditional medicines and practices.
